Dave does draw more than just flash, believe it or not. Sometimes he just draws for the pure pleasure of it! Not too often, but he does. Mostly it's for his band or work, and then used for other stuff, but that's how he convinces himself it's for his own gratification.

On the left is Dave's first actual painting! Done for an artshow put on by Presto Art, the show featured skateboard decks painted by different tattooers. This deck, and the others in the show, are available for viewing in the "Abrasions" book shown below.

Acrylic on wood (actual skateboard deck)

Above is Dave's third ever painting! Acrylic on canvas board entitled "Acroyears", this was done for a limited edition giclee print. Sorry Japanese toy fans, the print run was sold out!

Above is an illustration for a band flyer for a Fourth of July show.

Above center is a flyer illustration done for Dave's other band "Frum The Hills", a punk rock bluegrass band. This flyer was for their CD release party with The Glenmont Popes. Flyer done up all nice and purty by UC Studios.

Note at the bottom of the flyer, it reads "free admission to the girl with the biggest cock". The image of the 4th of July girl was also used on a flyer that read at the bottom "free admission to the girl with the biggest wiener".

On the right is what started out as a tattoo design, that ended up not getting tattooed. The basic image of the girl on the ice cream cart was drawn for a side rib panel, but when it was not used, Dave added a background and finished it off.

Above are two colored pencil on board illustrations that Dave did as tattoo designs. He liked them so much, it did a full blown full color rendering of them. Both are back piece designs, drawn to scale.
