Whenever Dave finds car junk and other odd stuff, he slaps some glue on a piece of wood and throws a bunch of crap in the air. He then holds the gluey piece of wood under it to see what takes shape. Here are a few things that looked halfway decent. On the left is the first attempt made by Dave at this sort of thing. It is entitled: "Fast Luck"-1996/97. Cards, horseshoe, gear, dice, mud flap girl and star on wood, 10 1/2" x 8 1/2". On the right is "Fury"-1996/97, courtesy of the Jinx Proof collection. Cards, dice, horseshoe, stars and car chrome pieces on wood, 10 1/2" x 8 1/2". |

St. Evel | On the left is a gift Dave made for his friend Karl as a wedding present. Karl is a big Evel Knevel fan, so appropriately, this one is entitled: "St. Evel - Daredevil, rebel, martyr for our entertainment, fucking psycho." -10/31/99. Basically meaning, Evel died for our sins...hence the "F.T.W." Dice, stars, bike chain, plastic roses, car chrome, "God Loves You" cross and chrome painted Evel Knevel figure on wood, 11 1/2" x 6". |
Here is a piece Dave just plum did for himself. It is entitled: "Turbocharged". He came across the pin up statue, and knew exactly what he hadda do with it. Then he made an assemblage out of it. Turbocharged is approximately 11" in height, and 13" in length. The assemblage consists of various items such as dice, cards, stars, horseshoe, gears, sparkplugs, car chrome, house numbers, buttons and a cool little metal cat figure. Both the cat and pin up are vintage pieces Dave came across, and all the rest are junk he had laying around. Once assembled and painted all fancy-like, ends up looking pretty good.
